Forum event (WP5)

The aim of WP5 is to establish the Forum as a meeting place for academic researchers, industry, manufacturers and regulators of in vitro toxicity tests focused on the transfer of technology to the end-users. Within the Forum different activities will be arranged such as a Forum-event and a website.

The results from the three analyses (WP1, WP2 and WP3) and the expert meeting will form the base for these activities. The Forum website will serve as a continuous and interactive forum for discussion, information and education on issues concerning implementation and use of alternative toxicity tests.

At the Forum-event in Stockholm, spring 2009, representatives from manufacturers of in vitro toxicity tests, research projects developing and validating alternative tests, regulatory agencies and end-users will get the opportunity to discuss urgent issues, such as how to respond to the increasing testing needs.

The Forum-event will also act as a meeting place where researchers can present their inventions. The outcome of the Forum-event will be a White book recommending actions to meet the increased needs for alternative toxicity tests.
