Potential impact

The potential impacts of the project are to:

- Increase the use of in vitro methods in toxicity testing

- Implementation of the 3Rs (Reduce, Replace, Refine)

- Facilitate the commercialization of usable in vitro toxicity assays

- Make the testing more humane and closer to the human target species

- Pilot a new type of coaching for the development of alternatives from lab bench to validation and finally regulatory consideration, by integration of all stakeholders (representing academia, animal welfare, industry and regulators) in the inner core of the Forum

- Make available a novel type of test kits for safety toxicity testing of chemicals, cosmetics and drugs

- Provide a cheaper, ethical and more scientifically based testing strategy for human toxicity

- Reduce the cost of the evaluation of the existing chemicals according to REACH requirements once this will be implemented
